RE: SMOKING PRIOR TO AN INTERVIEW

Please note that, being a reformed smoker myself (15 years and counting thank you very much), I know how hard it is to quit or how easy it can be, depending on your need and desire to smell smoke free (my personal motivation).

WARNING to all of the Puffers out there:

Non-smokers can be extremely sensitive (and yes, I will admit, a little obnoxious) about smoke fumes in their personal space.

If you feel the need to have one before the interview, thinking that it might calm your nerves...DON'T DO IT!!!

Save the calming fire stick for after the interview (which you would have had anyway...who are we kidding).

Along with having their smelling sense violated, as soon as the interviewer catches the waves of fumes coming off of you, do you know what they think?

Here comes the 10 times a day cigarette break.  They will be out of the office more than they will be in.

,,,,,Why is it that the non-smoker can't just leave the building whenever they want just because they don't have the desperate need to have one?

If non-smokers left the office 10 times during the day and said 'Hey, I'll be back, just need to get some fresh air'.

What do you think would happen?

Big trouble.  You know I'm right.

But chain smokers are acceptably allowed to vacate whenever the need arises.  They need to go out after all.

Not fair as far as I am concerned but I guess there is nothing much I can do about fair play in this case.

Just say no....for the moment, if you can.  Don't want to do anything that can set you back a step, before you even begin.
