If you’ve ever had poison Ivy,
raise your hand.
Wouldn’t
it be great to walk into that park again and have all of that poison itchy
stuff be glowing red so we could now clearly distinguish the safe from the
scratchy?
How
about walking down a crowded street and have all of your potential forevers light up in green?
It
would also be advantageously stupendous to have all of the people that will
eventually aide you in getting where you want to be professionally glow in
orange.
What a
colorful crayon box we would all live in!
Clearly
knowing which person to befriend just by the glow of their skin.
If only
everything was so outlined and distinct.
Ahh…I
love living visiting Color Fantasy Land.
Next
stop, Earth.
Damn
it.
So even
though people don’t really glow... (uh oh…I feel a poem coming on)
Can’t
help myself (isn’t there some kinda pill I
can take?)…
So even though people don’t really glow
You’ll have to be smart about whom to
know
Not to be fooled by a bait and switch
Or the friendly tone of a honey voiced
bitch
Your instincts must guide you right out
of college
To swing from the trees or use all that
knowledge
You can meet and greet from dusk until
dawn
Be leary of those who stifle a yawn
Making acquaintances or just making
friends
Smart choices distinguish from real to
pretend
You must choose your people wisely
Be extremely picky
‘Cause shaking the bad seeds later..can
get ugly and sticky.
Great people around you should only
surround
No fear of backstabbing, tri-faces
lurking around
You’ll make some mistakes
With girls and with guys
You’ll get better at learning how to spot
a disguise
When you’re fluent in Crap
Bilingual in Lies
You can never get hurt
By anyone who tries
This is might all sound cool and truly
profound
But it’s just stuff you learn from living
around.
So, shine bright or switch dim
Which way do you go?
The people you choose in life
Will always influence your glow!
Whew! I feel much better now.
