Starting Fresh On Monday…

How many times have we all said this phrase?

There is nothing wrong with saying that you are going toStart Fresh on Monday it as long as it is not said onWednesday.

When it is, it is just a guilty-conscious stroking way of saying I’m done for the week.

Don’t give up mid week!

Hellooooo….Everyone is starting Fresh on Monday. 

Personally, Monday is usually my most hectic day of the week. I would think it would be the same for most Human Resources Managers, right after the weekend.

I get an excessive amount of resumes and other work that I have to go thru on Mondays.  If I receive a resume mid week, I am more apt to have the time to review it vs. a Monday when I am completely overwhelmed.

Another reason not to give up mid week is that if you are applying with a very large company, there might be a few human resources staff members that have plenty of time to look over all of their incoming resumes all week long.

So there is no excuse to wait for a Monday! (Even if you are frustrated, keep going!).  Put forth every effort today to achieve your employment goal. Send out resumes, do follow up calls, do a cold call, follow up on any possible leads.

Don’t stop!!  Your competition sure won’t.

Don’t feel useless

Go out and feel useful

Don’t feel hopeless

Get out there, Get ruthful

Fight with a resume

Battle with a call

Don’t stop on Wednesday

To go to the mall

Shoes will be there

Size six and size eight

But a job won’t be there

If you sit around and wait

Drinks at the bar

Might sound quite appealing

But your inner most fears

Might soon be revealing

Reading the Star

Nails at the salon

Might be cool now

But opportunities will be gone

Prada, Manolo will still be out there

To buy what you want

Without a care

When you get a job

And have cash to spend

I might even look you up

For money to lend

You can buy today

And simply not care

That a great freaken job

Just might be out there

Don’t wait to get fresh

Like a sappy soap commercial

Go get the job

Your life’s not a rehearsal

I can keep going

But it is just wasting time

Just don’t quit mid week

Ms. Gin, Tonic and Lime.
